Kailash Gahlot quits AAP, joins BJP

In a significant political development ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, senior AAP minister Kailash Gahlot has resigned from the party, signaling a potential shift to the BJP. Gahlot, known for holding crucial portfolios such as Home, Transport, IT, and Women & Child Development, cited internal challenges within AAP as a reason for his exit.

In his resignation letter addressed to party leader Arvind Kejriwal, Gahlot criticized the party for losing sight of its promises. "Political ambitions have overtaken our commitment to the people," he wrote, highlighting unfulfilled pledges like cleaning the Yamuna River, which he claimed is now more polluted than ever.

Chief Minister Atishi accepted his resignation, while BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that Gahlot's departure underscores the transformation of AAP into a "Khaas Aadmi Party."
